Hospice of the Pines Volunteers find it to be a rewarding experience. They are part of the team in our Pursuit of Excellence in End of Life Care. Our volunteers are a valuable resource to our organization. We are always looking for great volunteers, and there are a variety of opportunities available for every interest and ability. Hospice of the Pines volunteers offer comfort and companionship to patients, respite care, and help with simple tasks like gardening, sewing, or even bringing a treat to celebrate a patient’s birthday. Opportunities for community service, office assistance, and other creative activities are always open and waiting to be filled. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience, because EVERYONE has something unique and special to share.
What our Volunteers Say
“Becoming a hospice volunteer fulfilled a long time desire to offer friendship and compassion to hospice patients and their families. Over the past year, for myself, and hopefully the patients, interaction with these dear humans has been an enlightening and priceless life experience.”
“As the birthday fairy for Hospice of the Pines, my calling as a volunteer offers me the opportunity to celebrate the precious gift of life with each patient I see. Volunteering heightens meaning and purpose in my life, opens doors to new friendships, and makes my heart sing. I encourage anyone who feels a calling to serve to consider becoming a volunteer. We all have something special and unique to give.”

What Do Volunteers Do?
Volunteers help patients and families in their homes with simple tasks like reading, letter writing or visiting. You can also assist in the Hospice of the Pines office, community events or helping us educate consumers about Hospice and Advanced Directives. Some of our volunteers assist with the Hospice of the Pines Hope and Care Foundation.
Our goal is to find the interests and talents of those that choose to serve our agency.
